My first e.l.f. purchase~

Hello everyone~
A few days ago, I did a bit of shopping on the internet and decided to check out e.l.f. cosmetics because I heard they were cheap and the quality of their makeup wasn't that bad, so I decided to give them a go. This was my first time ordering from e.l.f. and I hadn't used their products before either, so I was interested to see how I would like them. I bought 2 eye shadow mini palettes, a bronzer, 2 brushes and a mattifying nail varnish.

Firstly, i'm going to talk about the brushes - I bought a flat shader brush and a blending brush.

Flat shader brush

Blending brush

When I saw the blending brush in the packet, I was taken back a little bit. There are brush hairs sticking out of it, all over the place. I thought maybe it's just the packaging that's messed up the hairs, but no, they were falling out too. I ran my finger over the brush to see how soft it was, it's very soft which is nice, and powder/dust came off of my brush. Wait, what what? Powder? Coming off of my brush? Yes. And it was never ending powder! I decided to leave the brush alone and put it down. I was much happier with my flat shader brush. It's a bit thick and I think i'd like a thinner one, but for now it's fine. There are a few hairs sticking out here and there, but no where near as many as the blending brush.
Both of these brushes are nice and soft and feel nice on the eyes, but to have powder coming off of them and to have hairs falling out of the brushes? Not acceptable.

Next is the bronzing powder.

I got the bronzer in 2403 Luminance, because it was the lightest shade and i'm rather pale. The second photo isn't an accurate colour of the bronzer, it looks much lighter there, when really it's more golden. This is a glittery bronzer, and i'm not a fan of glittery things on my cheeks, apart from highlighter, but even then it has to be the right amount. This product's okay, it's powdery, so be careful of fall out and tap off the excess. I don't think it shows up too well on my skin as I tried it on before and didn't really notice anything - maybe when I use it a bit more and get used to it i'll see it better.

The third product is a mini eye shadow palette.

This eye shadow quad is in 2005 Luxe.
I was attracted to this palette because of the gorgeous reddish brown eye shadow~ it's a lovely shade and a very wearable one too, so it won't make your eyes look irritated or as if you've taken something. Above are the swatches of the eye shadows and they aren't bad at all, the gold eye shadow is the only disappointing one as the colour pay off isn't the best. Personally, I wouldn't wear all these colours at the same time on my eyes, it's too much shimmer and I like to wear about 3 colours on my lids when I'm out and about. You can easily create a smokey eye with this palette, just be careful of fall out as these are very powdery.

Next up is another eye shadow quad.

This eye shadow quad is in 2016 Nymph Dreams.
I got this quad because I was attracted to the turquoise colour and I don't have a turquoise eye shadow like this, so I thought why not. The eye shadow in between the gold and turquoise really reminds me of Urban Decay's Smog eye shadow, and it's a pretty good dupe of it, so if you are looking for a cheaper alternative, this palette may be the way to go. Again, the gold eye shadow is SERIOUSLY disappointing. I love the colour of it, the lovely yellow gold eye shadow, but it was so so difficult to get on my brush and on my finger for a swatch. Really sad about that. The others though, have a lovely pay off~ They blend well too, but once again, they're powdery so be careful of fall out!

The fifth and final product I bought:

This is e.l.f's mattifying nail varnish.
I've wanted a matte nail varnish for a while now, and I finally bought one! I love the classy effect matte nails give and this is pretty damn good. It dries in no time and looks really cool. I don't have much to say because I haven't used it on all my fingers yet, but once I do, i'll give a proper review on it.

I will be doing looks with these products soon, so stay tuned for that, but overall, i'm a little disappointed with e.l.f, thankfully, it's very cheap as everything, apart from the nail varnish (£2.50), was £1.50, which is ridiculous! And it costed £2 to send it out, which isn't too bad at all really. Will I order from e.l.f again? Maybe. I'll buy some of their other products like their gel liners and give them a go, we'll see.
Thanks for reading! I hope this review had some information for you to take on board in case you were ever curious on e.l.f cosmetics and wondered about ordering from there.

REVIEW - GEO Magic Colour Lenses, Fresh Colour FC-725

Hello everyone~
I have another lens review for you! Ever since I bought my first pair from EDIT, I need more lenses in my life, and yesterday (27th) I went to London to go to the V&A, but we were given a chance to go out into London too, so of course I took this opportunity and went for a bit of a shop! I bought the GEO Magic Colour Lenses in Fresh Colour FC-725, which are 2 tone grey lenses.
I've heard good things about GEO lenses, and i've always wanted a pair to see if they lived up to expectations, and oh my goodness, they have.

My eye on the left has no contact in, and the eye on the right does.
As soon as I put the lens in I was totally amazed - my eyes didn't water at all, it was so comfortable, and it looks natural too!

The top photo is taken with a flash and the one underneath it is taken without a flash.
I love, love, love these lenses~ You don't feel them in your eyes, unlike the EDIT ones, which you can feel. These are so much more natural looking too, and such a pretty grey! They blend in really well with my natural green eyes, it's not a harsh line surrounding my pupil which i'm always weary of, it just looks so pretty~ The diameter is 14.2mm, so you're going to have a bigger eyed effect, which I personally like. You get the bigger eye effect from the black ring surrounding the lens too.

I really can't get over how comfortable these lenses are!

YES, JUST LOOK. UGH~ MY HEART MELTS.

Overall, I am totally impressed by these GEO lenses and I will definitely be purchasing another pair, or a few other pairs~ I give these 10/10!

Thanks for reading! I really hope you liked this quick post~ If you would like me to review anything, have a look you'd like me to recreate or ask me a question, you can contact me via twitter @nadia_harrison or email me at elegant.mustache@yahoo.co.uk

REVIEW - Edit Contact Lenses, Blue 3 Tone.

Hello all~
I am going to appologise.. I haven't been posting/blogging a lot lately, and i'm very sorry, but I do have my reasons! I am now a uni student and i'm so busy. You have no idea (unless you're on my course). I don't have a day off in the week, so my free time is after lectures and weekends, and that's when I hibernate. But, don't worry, I WILL get back into things very soon!

Okay, on with the review!
Today, a friend of mine and myself, went into Blue Banana and I was drawn to their contact lenses. I've always wanted a pair but i've never really gotten around to buying some, BUT TODAY THAT ALL CHANGED!
I bought Edit Contact Lenses in Blue 3 Tone:

Blue Banana stock a good selection of Edit lenses, and Edit do a wide variety, so whether you're into natural looking lenses or crazy ones, Edit will have them for you.

The packaging is simple and small, nothing special at all really.

The bottles came with a sealed top, so you know no one has been poking around them. The box tells you which lens is for which eye, so don't panic! It also comes with a little information booklet which I recommend reading for first time contact users.

I bought Edit solution set too, and this was only £2.99, and it came with tweezers and a lens case as well as the solution itself.

I've worn these lenses for about an hour now, and comfort wise, they're comfy! You will know if you've accidentally popped the lens the wrong way. Trust me.

Because this is the first time i've ever worn contacts, my eyes are still adjusting and sometimes my vision is a little blurry, but it's nothing major, it's not like i'm blind or anything. I'm going to admit, I was a little tentative at first to put them in. I've seen YouTuber's put theirs in, so I knew how to do it, but when it came to do it myself, I was a bit oo-er about it, but once one's in, you'll be grand~
REMEMBER: Change the solution in your lens case EVERY TIME you use them! If you look after them with TLC, you'll get a few good years out of them.

The top photo is taken with flash, and the one underneath it is taken without.
You probably can't see, but the lens does contain 3 colours: Blue, black/brown, and a very light hazel/green. With the black/brown ring around the contact, it will make your eyes look bigger, even though the millimeter isn't any bigger than your iris.
With the flash, they're very obvious, not natural looking at all, but I don't mind too much because i'm not going to wear them every day. Without the flash, they look a lot softer and calmer, which I prefer.

All in all, i'm happy with my purchase! I will be buying more lenses and I will be buying Edit lenses again too~

I'd give these lenses a 7/10.

Thanks so much for reading! It's nice to do a review on something i've never tried before~
If you'd like me to do a tutorial regarding to the makeup i'm wearing in this post, let me know!

REVIEW - Montagne Jeunesse hot chocolate face mask

Hello everyone~
Today's post is a review of Montagne Jeunesse Melted Hot Chocolate Pore Cleansing Face Mask - a complete mouthful. And, joining me in this review is my bestest, Megan~

This is what the packaging looks like, nothing special, just very simple. This is the chocolate & orange type mask. If you can see, it says on the pack "Self Heating" - I will get to this in a moment! So, the directions for use are pretty simple: 1) Clean your face, 2) Apply the face mask, 3) Wait, 4) Clean your face. It's not rocket science.

So, here we are, with clean faces~ We used Simple Makeup Wipes and then moisturised our faces with Simple Moisturiser.  After that, we opened up our face masks:

On the packet they give a tear mark, which is handy because other wise I would have had to get my scissors out - and I didn't want to do that. This face mask smells amazing. It's a Terry's Chocolate Orange melted down! And if you have no idea what that is, it's basically orange chocolate. It smelled DELICIOUS, I was very tempted to eat it...

As soon as we applied this to our face we were taken back and went crazy. The face mask was warm! It was warming up and we weren't quite sure if we liked it or not, it was a bit freaky. The colour of this is a little off putting - if you know what I mean. At first, I thought Megan was having an allergic reaction because she was going crazy and freaking out, and in all fairness, I was getting freaked out by her reaction.

We applied the face mask everywhere on our face, avoiding our eyes, mouth and nostrils - obviously. And, as you can see, it's not the cleanest of processes ever, but it washes off of your hands pretty easily. Now, all we have to do is wait 10-15 minutes~

This is the mask 15 minutes later~ Not a lot has changed! It has dried a little bit, but not so much that you can't move your face. It stays moist and if you begin to rub it again, it warms up.

Now we wash it all off~
We filled up my sink with warm water and brought the water to our faces and rubbed it off - of course, you do what you're happier with.  The mask is brown, so your water will obviously be brown too. Genius. Make sure you take your time getting the mask off of your face, you'll be suprised how much of it stays on. We found that this product can make your skin a little darker if you don't clean your face well - not an attractive look really.

Moisturise your skin afterwards and ta-dah!
This product said it was pore cleansing, but I didn't find that. My pores looked exactly the same, so I was a bit disappointed. My skin did feel soft, which was nice, but we didn't get it for soft skin. The positive parts about this is that it smells fabulous and it's easy to apply! I had so much left in the packet when I was done.
I would give this ***, it would have been **** or ***** if it did what it said on the tin.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and my blog and I hope you stay tuned for my next post~!

My 1st order from Sasa.com part 4 - Face scrub, eyebrow mascara and double eyelid tape(?)

Phew, this is the last part now, I bet you're sick to death of it all.

Lately i've been loving face masks and different face scrubs and when I came across a tub of face scrub for a cheap price, I couldn't resist! The only problem is, I can't read Chinese...

I only realised after taking these pictures that there's a spoon included so I can scoop the product out and mix it with water to make my mask *face palm* Okay, so, there's a lot of this and it's going to last me a long time, well it seems that way! This powder smells funny. I don't know what of, but it smells. It's not a disgusting smell like the cupcake hand cream, it's just different haha! Because i'm silly and I didn't know there was a spoon for me to use, I just applied it straight onto my skin and used water to make a mixture on my face, which is probably the wrong thing to do, and I made it into a bit of a face scrub and although I only used it on a small section of my cheek, it really made a difference! That section of my cheek was smooth~ really really nice! Next time when I use this, i'm going to make a mixture on a pallet thing and see how that goes~
I'd give this  ****

Now, onto something that i've been looking forward to try since I ordered it! Brow mascara from Dolly Wink~!

I ordered this in the darkest shade, Coco (I think, i'll need to check that too!) and even the darkest shade is too light for me -_- but that doesn't mean that I haven't been using it. I've started to fill in my eyebrows differently lately, so they're lighter at the front, about 1/4 and the other 3/4 is darker and with this brow mascara on top, it looks rather nice! Another thing i'm a bit meh about it is that it's shimmery... *face palm* WHY?! Who wants shimmery golden eye brows?? Tsubasa Masuwaka, I totally understand that it's something for certain people and that you suit it, but it's not going to suit everyone.

This is the wand and I wasn't expecting this, at all. In my mind, I had a much bigger mascara  wand, I probably thought this because i've seen makeup people on YouTube use different brands of brow mascara and the wands on those are different but hey-ho! Each brand to their own~ At first I didn't like the size of it, but now that i've used it more I like it more, and with the wand being this small I can see when I need to trim my brows, hahaha.
I would give this Dolly Wink product ***~

Now, I bought double eyelid tape because I thought it could help me out. I'm not a monolid or anything, but I have a bit of a hood going on, or, as I like to call it, fat lids. The down side to having fat lids is that I can't have a perfectly straight line when I use eyeliner, I have to kinda curve it on my lid and over draw it, making it thick so I can get a straight line. I don't mind this, but some days I don't want thick eye liner and so I thought "ah ha! MAYBE THIS WILL HELP ME!"

So I got this Japanese brand of tape because it was cheap and there's 34 strips of tape which I think will last me a good long time, seeing as i'm not going to use these every day. I'm still getting to grips with how to use these things... as soon as you use the tweezers (which come with them) to pick them up and get closer to your lids, they just have like a weird magnetic connection to your skin and are almost saying "NO, I WILL STICK HERE. DO NOT MOVE ME. HERE. HERE. HERE." As strange as it sounds, it's true. I still need to use them more for me to understand (is that the right word?) them better, because at the moment, i'm not sticking them in the right place and you can't even tell that i've put double lid tape there. Comfort level, I couldn't tell you because i'd want to wear them for a whole day before making a judgement on that. I might invest in some glue instead... we'll see.
I would give this product **

I was meant to post the packaging and packaging details in my part 1, but I forgot, so i'm doing it now~!

As you can see, the box it came in was pretty large and 3/4 of it was filled with Styrofoam 3 or E shaped things. A box full of fun~ My items were all packed together in a sellotaped bubble-wrap bag thing. This was good because it meant my items were safely together and there wouldn't be any damage. On the other hand, I kinda wish they were separate because they were quite crammed together in the bubble-wrap bag and my packaging on my Etude House box was only very very slightly damaged, and I like packaging and things so this was a suprising thing for me. I did have to pay shipping charges which I didn't realise, so be prepared if you live outside Hong Kong! Haha!

Well i've finally finished my review on my first Sasa.com haul! I really hoped you enjoyed reading this and stay tuned for my next post!

Thanks again for reading~!
